Even more than a dog training company, Lucid is an education company. For this, we love it when interesting and insightful presentations about dog training are made at events such as TED and PechaKucha Night. A few years ago at the independently-organized TEDx Napa Valley, Mike Dowling, a former K-9 handler with the United States Marine Corp made this presentation about his life-changing experience with the Marines and shared some great thoughts about how to build engagement and ultimately a strong relationship with a dog. Because dogs are beautifully simple, everything he says works just as well for those of us who are nowhere near a combat zone.
