It was great to see so many well behaved dogs tonight, especially considering all of the rain (and umbrellas) at Lake Oswego’s 50th Annual Tree Lighting.
In conjunction with the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce, the City of LO kicked off the evening at the Bigelow Plaza Holiday Tree which is located on the corners of 5th Street and A Avenue in downtown Lake Oswego. Superintendent Dr. Heather Beck did the honor of “flipping the switch” this year, and now the tallest lit tree in the nation is on display in the Safeway parking lot in Downtown LO – be sure to check it out if you’re in the area.
While watching the festivities in the Oregon rain, we noticed quite a few dogs that were also out “braving” the weather. For many dogs, this was the first time they had seen this many umbrellas, and owners were doing a great job at observing their pets’ reactions and “shaping” the desired behavior instead of nurturing a fear-reponse. We tip our hats to Ellie and her owner (and everyone else) who had a wonderful evening at the tree lighting with their dogs!
