My dog treat recipes took an interesting turn this week. Instead of having easy, no-tool treats, I ended up with easy, no-tool biscuits. The best part of this adventure is that even if I did a horrible job cooking, what’s the worst that could happen? The dogs just don’t eat it? Okay, that’s fine. I can live with that natural consequence.
Here’s how the baking adventure went:
- Preheat the oven to 400º F. Naturally grease the cookie sheet, or put down tinfoil to help with treat-removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, pour out the can of dog food. To try and make it more pate-style, I started mashing it around with a fork.
- Then, dump in the eggs (or, if you’re me, egg whites because you realized you’re out of eggs), flour, and baking powder.
- Mix the mash together with a fork until dough is moist.
- Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
- Bake at 400º for 15-20 minutes. Patience!!
- Let the little biscuits cool before feeding them to your pup! I actually tore most of them in half to make smaller treats.
